    • How to Create an Email Account
    Back

To get started with sending and receiving emails, you will need an email account created in cPanel. Having an email account setup and connected with a mail client will allow you to send, receive, and quickly manage your emails using your favorite email client.

    1. Find the Email section and click the Email Accounts icon.
    2. A form will appear to allow you to enter essential data. Fill it out accordingly.
» Email: This is the email address you'll be setting up to access with an email client.
» Password: This is the password you'll set when logging in.
» Password (Again): Retype the password to verify accuracy.
    3. Set the email account's quota, keeping in mind how much storage you need for your emails. Set to Unlimited to have no limit, and the account will be limited to the account's available storage.
    4. Click Create Account.

When you're done, a new email account will be created which you can connect to. The account is ready for use immediately.

Security Tip #1: Make sure to always use a strong password. Avoid dictionary terms and try to use a phrase or unique combination of characters only you would know or remember.

Security Tip #2: If you log into an email account through cPanel's webmail interface, make sure to logout if you're on a public terminal / computer. Leaving your email account open to access will put it at risk of malicious activity, and could pose a risk to further exploitation such as using your email address to obtain access to websites registered on with this email account.
