    How to create a MySQL user

    This documentation assumes that you're already logged into cPanel and on the home screen of your cPanel account.

    1. Find the icon with the text MySQL Databases. This will be under the Databases section. Click the icon.
    2. Scroll down until you see MySQL Users.
    3. In the Username field, type in the name of your MySQL user.
    4. In the Password field, type in a strong password for your MySQL user.
    5. In the Password (Again) field, retype your password.
    6. Click Create a User.
    7. Your MySQL user has been created, click Go Back to be taken back to the previous page.

    Your MySQL user is ready to be attached to a database. You can verify your MySQL user was created under the section Current Users.

    Security Tips

    • It's advisable to generate a random password for your MySQL user.
    • A random username would reduce the risk of your database being discovered.
